…something a bit different for Episode 19…

CARIBOU – Secret Gig
Dan Snaith likes to get out of the studio and away from his laptop. The Golden Apples of the Sun presents an exclusive re-broadcast of the Caribou live show from earlier this year. The show was recorded at The Becks Music Box as part of the Festival of Perth. The show was a sell-out but RTRFM was there and captured the full set which you can listen to uninterrupted during the Golden Apples of the Sun this Sunday 19 June between 2 – 4pm. The sounds are at once both raw and polished, full of improvisation and incredibly exciting. Also playing will be tracks from the Caribou Vibration Ensemble live recording featuring a 15-piece Ensemble that included a horn section led by Sun Ra sideman Marshall Allen, Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden on the knobs, and a gaggle of other friends who came together to help broadcast the noises inside Snaith’s head…

The recording is not direct from a soundboard instead we have two mikes in the crowd – its a bit freaky at the start and lots of red levels for our sound engineer but worth going with as it gets better and was an incredible live show.
